About LIVA

Society "Latvian Association of Property Appraisers" (LIVA) is a non-governmental organisation, registration No.  LV 40008010952, founded on 13 January 1995. The main task of LIVA is to create and develop a valuation system based on accepted international valuation pracices and international valuation standards, as well as to create and develop an education system of valuers.

Currently LIVA has 117 members, 10 member candidates, as well as 27 valuation companies that are associated members of LIVA.

 

LĪVA performs private person certification and monitoring in:

  • real estate valuation according to Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 559 dated 23.09.2014., as well as according to the certification system "Recognized European Valuer" by The European Group of Valuer's Associations (TEGoVA)
  • business and intangible assets valuation according to regulations and certification procedures of certification comission
  • movable property valuation according to regulations and certification procedures of certification comission

LĪVA Competence supervision bureau performs legal persons (company) certification and monitoring in real estate, business and intangible assets and movable property valuation.

 

Till Year 2004 LĪVA performed private persons certification in real estate valuation on its own. On 1 January 2004 LIVA certification bureau was created that performs real estate valuers certification according to Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 559 dated 23.09.2014. LIVA certification bureau is an independent institution that is acredited in the Latvian National accreditation bureau according to standard LVS EN ISO/IEC 17024.

Latvian Association of Property Appraisers is a member of International valuation standards committee (IVSC) and European group of valuer's associations (TEGOVA) and works closely with other international valuers assocations.
